Disneyland Celebrates Pirates of the Caribbean’s 50th Anniversary

This Saturday, March 18th will mark the 50th anniversary of one of Disneyland’s most iconic attractions, Pirates of the Caribbean. The attraction has been closed since the beginning of February for refurbishment in preparation to celebrate this special anniversary! It will re-open on Thursday, March 16th.

Starting on Thursday, March 16 the celebration will begin with some special pirate-themed grub at French Market Restaurant, Mint Julep Bar, Harbour Galley, Royal Street Verandah, Cafe Orleans and in the Blue Bayou Restaurant.

The following day, March 17th and through the rides official anniversary guests can find pirate-themed entertainers throughout New Orleans Square including the Bootstrappers and Lucky the Pirate. There will also be special limited-edition anniversary merchandise for sale throughout New Orleans Square.

For those well versed in pirate talk or those just learning, make sure to keep your eye out for special collectible pirate speak cards. No announcement has been made what, if anything was done to the attraction during the month plus long refurbishment.
